Halloween Quilt Patterns
Halloween
Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31. Common Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses", carving Jack-o'-lanterns, reading scary stories and watching horror movies. Irish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several countries of the Western world, most commonly in Ireland (where it originated), the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and occasionally in parts of Australia.
Patterns are all the original characters like witches, pumpkins, ghosts, bats, vampires, goblins, and black cats. Some are very fun and whimsical and some are scary and ghostly.

Thimbleberries Quilting for Harvest: 20 Great Projects from Harvest to Halloween (Thimbleberries)ReviewsThe book has incredibly cute patterns. There are many I intend to make. I have not tried any of them yet but the patterns look very doable. I intend to buy other books by Thimbleberries. I have this book and love it as well. If you are into fall and like pumpkins it is especially nice. My only complaint is that it did not have templates other than those items that had to be appliqued. All of the directions are for rotary cutting, but most pieces are cut on the half inch and are easy to do. It has lovely photos of each project. This book is a keeper! It has many projects for quilters of all levels. When I think of fall, I think of Thimbleberries for quilting. This book is well-worth the money. The projects are just darling and I can't wait to get started. I really like the Fall and this book fit my that season. Average Rating:![]() |

Simple Fabric Folding for Halloween: 12 Fun Quilts and ProjectsReviewsWhen I bought this book, I didn't realize one of the projects had been featured on the HGTV "Simply Quilts" program. That made me even happier I made the purchase. It has the "Spider Web" wall quilt that Alex Anderson featured on her Halloween episode. This is a fun and wonderful book. I've made the lollipop holder and it's adorable! I bought it for the patterns, but her general instructions are wonderful. I find myself referring to it over and over for tips on binding and invisible borders. Average Rating:![]() |
