Vintage Quilt Patterns
Needlework is is a broad term for the handicrafts of decorative sewing and textile arts. Anything that uses a needle for construction can be called needlework. The definition may expand to include related textile crafts such as a crochet hook or tatting shuttles.
Similar abilities often transfer well between different varieties of needlework, such as fine motor skill and a knowledge of textile fibers. Some of the same tools may be used in several different varieties of needlework. For instance, a needle threader is useful in nearly all needlecrafts.

Egg Money Quilts: 1930's Vintage SamplersReviewsI was very pleased with the book. It gives detailed instructions and patterns. I think it would be very easy to follow. My book arrived in a very timely manor and in wonderful condition. I will get many uses of all the patterns. Thank you, W. Cook I love this book. I enjoy all "Quilt In A Day" books but this is my favorite. Purchasee from Amazon.com received before date that it would arrive. Would recommend highly. I loved the quilts included in this book and can hardly wait to make some of them. The vintage fabrics are my favorites, so soft looking and comfortable. Thanks Eleanor for another great book! This was a used book, but I couldn't find any fault with it. Wonderful! The transaction was great and I will buy from this person again. Thank you for a wonderful book that I have wanted for a long time but couldn't afford a new one. Average Rating:![]() |

Granny Quilts: Vintage Quilts of the 30s Made New for TodayReviewsThe quilts in this book are so beautiful. Since I love vintage prints, I really wanted to get this book as there are many quilts that I want to make. The only thing that I don't like is that a special type of implement is needed for these quilts. I'm sure it's not that expensive. I just don't like buying new things in order to make the quilts. I read through the book several times to find out if there is another way to do the designs, but I couldn't find it. Otherwise the book is beautiful. Granny Quilts: Vintage Quilts of the 30s Made New for Today Beautiful pictures, easy to follow instrutions, this book would appeal to all types of quilters. If you admire quilts from the past but want to put an updated twist to them, you will enjoy viewing and putting your own touches to these patterns. The book is excellent and I'm very happy that I was able to purchase it. I have always wanted to quilt a granny quilt and I finally have the pattern to do so. I never get tired of looking through this quilt book, and that's more than can be said about many others I own. But even beyond that, I have already made one quilt (Peek-a-Boo Baskets) from it, and have expectations that I will go on to make make two of the others as well. There are so many classics in here, you can hardly wait to try them. That's evidence that the book is truly inspirational!-- not only loving the pictures, but going on to actually make something from the book. The patterns and instructions were perfect. Sugar Sack Quilts: 12 Quilts Using Vintage Or Reproduction FabricsReviewsJust a sweet book to read and learn from, I love reading it and enjoy the photos, even though I have never made a quilt in my life. This book is great. Many pretty quilts, not too difficult. I highly recommend it! Between the 1930s and 1960s colorful textile feedsacks offered an affordable way for women to brighten their lives, with home sewers turning them into dresses, quilts and household ware. Here are both old patterns and original designs with 12 projects featuring a range of feedsack fabrics. Designs run from beginner to advanced quilter projects and each project offers a comprehensive list of patterns, step-by-step piecing instructions, and more. A perfect, different pick for any library offering needlework ideas and history. I really enjoyed the information provided about feedsacks. I was so inspired by the book that I immediately started the little doll quilt on page 88 and I have already finished it. It turned out great. I am a begining quilter found the instructions were easy to follow and I had no problems. I would recommend this book to everyone! Average Rating:![]() |
